(Digital Itla) Glasgow: National athlete Arshad Nadeem has qualified for the final of the javelin throw event at the Commonwealth Games, while fellow national athlete Muhammad Yasir Sultan failed to make the final. Arshad Nadeem secured a spot among the top 12 athletes; the javelin throw final will be held tomorrow in Glasgow. Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem registered a throw of 78.63 meters on his first attempt, his second throw was fouled, and his third reached 75.65 meters. Meanwhile, Pakistan's Muhammad Yasir fouled his first attempt, threw 71.42 meters on his second, and 74.36 meters on his third. On the first throw, India's Neeraj Chopra lagged behind Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem, later recording 79.61 meters on his second throw. In Mian Channu, a large crowd gathered at Arshad Nadeem's residence to watch his qualifying round, creating a festive atmosphere as locals gathered to pray for his success.
