Faisalabad 1 Oct (DIGITAL ITLA) Commissioner Faisalabad, Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, visited the under-construction Milat Road and expressed strong dissatisfaction over the failure to complete the project past the September 30 deadline. Deciding to initiate disciplinary action against negligent officials, the Commissioner set a final deadline of October 25, 2026, for the road's restoration, warning the sub-engineer to supervise construction in the field rather than sitting in the office. He stressed that delays in public welfare projects are unacceptable and ordered the deployment of extra workforce from Noor Pur Chowk to Family Mart on Multan Road to accelerate work round the clock.

Interacting with local residents and shopkeepers, the Commissioner assured them that he would not rest until their commuting hardships are resolved. He directed the Managing Director of WASA and the Director Development to make regular site visits to ensure transparent completion. The Commissioner also inspected the Noor Pur Sabzi Mandi Road following public complaints, taking notice of an eight-month delay in laying sewer pipes, and ordered the sub-engineer to resume work by Monday, October 5, adding that he will inspect the site next Thursday. Furthermore, he inspected the road from Mian Pind to Jhang Road, setting a deadline of December 15 for the sewer line and January 15, 2027, for asphalting, noting that since the NOC from Pakistan Railways has been secured, work must be expedited.

Reviewing other development projects, the Commissioner inspected the laying of a 30-inch sewer line from GC Women University Madina Town Road to Al-Aziz Masjid under the Chief Minister Punjab Package, strictly instructing that remaining work be finished by October 30. He also reviewed progress on the road from Jaranwala Road to GC Women University, warning that not a single day of delay beyond the October 22 deadline will be tolerated, and ordered double-shift operations with daily progress monitoring. Expressing displeasure over delayed lane marking from GC Women University to Susan Road, he reprimanded the Municipal Officer Infrastructure and ordered immediate implementation. Concluding his visit, the Commissioner warned that departmental action will be taken without hesitation against anyone employing delaying tactics in public welfare schemes.
