Blast During Bomb-Making in Balochistan’s Surab Kills 18 Militants, Three Civilians

Rawalpindi (August 12, 2026): Eight militants were killed in a blast while allegedly planting explosives in a vehicle in Surab district of Balochistan, while security forces later killed another 10 militants during a clearance operation, according to the military’s media wing.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan were preparing a vehicle for a terrorist attack when a powerful explosion occurred, killing eight militants and injuring several others.

Three Civilians Killed in Secondary Blasts

According to the ISPR, additional explosives at the site detonated after the initial blast, killing three civilians in the nearby area.

Security forces and Balochistan police immediately reached the site and launched a joint clearance operation to track down the militants and their facilitators.

The security forces subsequently detected the movement of fleeing militants and conducted an effective operation, killing another 10 militants.

18 Militants Killed, Two Security Personnel Injured

The ISPR said a total of 18 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan have been killed in the incidents so far.

Two security personnel were also injured during an intense exchange of fire.

The clearance operation remains underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. The ISPR said security forces and law-enforcement agencies remain committed to continuing counterterrorism operations to eliminate foreign-backed terrorism from the country.
