Babar Azam Returns to ICC Test Top 10 After Strong West Indies Series

Pakistan captain rises five places following impressive performances

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has returned to the top 10 of the ICC Test batting rankings after a strong performance against the West Indies.

According to the latest ICC rankings, Babar climbed five places from 15th to 10th position.

Babar scored 193 runs in the two-Test series against the West Indies and was named Player of the Series for his impressive performance.

The Pakistan captain had dropped out of the Test top 10 in September 2024. His career-best ranking was second, which he achieved during Pakistan's home Test series against England in December 2022.

Abdullah Shafique Makes Major Jump

Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique also made significant progress, climbing 25 places to 32nd in the rankings.

Shafique was named Player of the Match after scoring an unbeaten 160 and 24 in the match against the West Indies.

Sajid Khan, Shaheen Afridi in Bowling Rankings

In the bowling rankings, West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph climbed to 19th, while Pakistan spinner Sajid Khan moved to 30th. Shaheen Shah Afridi is ranked 29th.

Australia's Travis Head remains the world's No. 1 Test batter, followed by England's Harry Brook in second place.

India's Jasprit Bumrah continues to lead the Test bowling rankings, with New Zealand's Matt Henry in second place.
