Experts urge greater awareness and collective efforts to protect young people from addiction
FAISALABAD, Aug. 18, 2026: An awareness seminar on drug abuse was organized by the Anti-Narcotics Association at Allied Hospital-II in Faisalabad, where experts and social figures highlighted the harmful effects of drugs on human health.
The seminar was attended by psychiatrist Professor Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, Faisalabad Grammar School and College Principal Riffat Naveed, Dr Samreen Afzal, Anti-Narcotics Chairman Mian Rizwan Siddique, association General Secretary Amina Akram, Professor Muhammad Rehmatullah Sialvi, Mian Usman Siddique Chaudhry, Vice President Muhammad Parvez, human rights activist Nida Rizwan, Muhammad Afzal Jalandhari and others.
Speakers briefed participants on the serious physical and psychological effects of drug use and stressed the need to increase public awareness about the dangers of addiction.
They said parents, educational institutions, social organizations and other sections of society must work together to protect young people from drug abuse.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the destructive consequences of drug use and promote collective efforts to build a healthier and drug-free society.
