FAISALABAD (August 20, 2026): Acting on public complaints and directives from the divisional and district administration, joint teams of the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) and Municipal Corporation Faisalabad, accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner City and Para Force, launched an extensive anti-encroachment operation in the streets and markets of Gulberg C.
During the operation, several permanent and illegal structures were demolished with heavy machinery. Encroachments including platforms, ramps, iron grills, sheds, vehicle garages and other illegal constructions established on streets, markets and public passageways were removed, clearing public routes for pedestrians and vehicles.
According to the administration, notices had previously been issued to the individuals responsible for the encroachments, directing them to remove the illegal structures and obstructions voluntarily. However, as the notices were not complied with within the given deadline, a joint operation was launched.
The teams removed encroachments without discrimination and cleared all major obstructions to restore the original width of streets and public passageways.
On the directives of FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, the FDA team participated in the operation under the supervision of Director Estate Management Junaid Hassan Manj and led by Estate Officer Faran Hashmi. Assistant Estate Officer Aslam Gujjar, Anti-Encroachment Inspector Aslam Ansari and other relevant staff were also part of the team.
The Municipal Corporation team, led by Deputy Chief Officer Azmat Firdous, also took part in the operation along with Anti-Encroachment Inspector Akram Shahzad and eviction staff.
The administration said anti-encroachment operations would continue without discrimination in accordance with the directives of the divisional and district administration and the policy of the FDA director general.
Citizens were urged not to occupy government land, streets, footpaths or public passageways by constructing illegal structures or placing goods and other obstacles that block public routes.
FDA officials said the affected areas would be continuously monitored following the operation to prevent the re-establishment of illegal encroachments. Those found rebuilding encroachments would face legal action.
FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said providing citizens with clean, spacious and safe public passageways, improving the city’s appearance and ensuring organised urban development were among the authority’s key priorities. He said all relevant departments would continue coordinated action against encroachments.
