(Digital Itla) The Sindh government took a U-turn regarding the Saturday holiday policy in educational institutions, increasing daily teaching time by one hour instead.
According to details, the Sindh government decided to reinstate Saturday as a weekly day off for all public and private schools across the province.
Under this decision, to compensate for the Saturday holiday and maintain academic progress effectively, daily instructional hours will be extended by one hour.
Officials stated that the Saturday holiday decision aligns with the Sindh government's ongoing austerity measures and energy conservation targets, aiming to achieve policy goals without compromising educational standards.
Earlier, at the end of summer vacations, the Sindh government had ended the Saturday holiday effective August 1, instructing schools to operate 6 days a week. However, Provincial Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah issued a fresh clarification on social media, stating that per official notifications, all public schools continue 6-day instructional schedules effective August 1, 2026.
