Makkah Temperature May Reach 47°C During Hajj Season

(Digital Itla) Saudi Arabia’s meteorological department has warned of extreme heat during the Hajj season and advised pilgrims to take precautionary measures.

According to the forecast, temperatures in Makkah may rise to 47°C, while Madinah could experience temperatures up to 44°C.

Humidity levels are expected to remain around 40 percent, while dusty winds may also affect open areas. Thunderstorms and rain are possible in the mountainous regions of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, and Makkah.

Saudi authorities urged pilgrims to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, and follow all safety guidelines to prevent heatstroke and dehydration.

 

The Saudi Press Agency reported that the number of international pilgrims arriving for Hajj has surpassed 1.518 million.
