(Digital Itla) A risk of petrol and diesel shortages has emerged in Karachi and across the country. Due to the U.S.-Iran war, the impact of rising oil prices in the global market has begun to surface.
Amir Khan, President of the Petroleum Dealers Association Sindh, stated that oil marketing companies have restricted the supply of petroleum products, and supply shortages are being faced due to allocations imposed on all petrol pumps.
According to Tariq Hassan, Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association, a shortage of petroleum products is feared nationwide due to the reduction in supply to petrol pumps. Sources in oil marketing companies stated that petrol pumps are being supplied based on their monthly average sales, and no dealer's additional demand is being met. They added that dealers begin creating a fuss as soon as oil becomes expensive globally, yet whenever there is a prospect of a price reduction, dealers reduce their purchasing of products.
