FAISALABAD, Aug. 25, 2026: Director General Extension of Punjab Livestock Department Dr. Syed Nadeem Badr visited Chiniot on Tuesday to review veterinary services and field measures aimed at controlling Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) among livestock. During his visit to the Civil Veterinary Hospital Chiniot, Badr inspected the newly constructed operation theatre, outpatient department (OPD), ultrasound services and other technical facilities. He also reviewed the hospital's administrative and medical affairs, along with official records and documentation. All staff were found present and performing their duties, the department said. Badr appreciated the hospital's overall performance, service delivery and record maintenance, while directing officials to further improve OPD documentation and the maintenance of official records.

LSD control measures reviewed

The livestock official also visited a private livestock farm in Wuswana village in Lalian tehsil, where he reviewed the field situation and measures being taken to prevent and control Lumpy Skin Disease. He inspected disease monitoring, prevention and reporting arrangements and assessed the effectiveness of ongoing field activities. Badr praised Additional Director Livestock Chiniot Dr. Atta Subhani, Deputy Director Livestock Chiniot Dr. Muhammad Wajid and field staff for their timely response, monitoring and efforts to control the disease. He directed officials to maintain continuous surveillance, timely reporting and coordinated field operations to protect livestock from LSD and ensure farmers receive effective veterinary services.

The department said field monitoring activities were aimed at improving veterinary service delivery, ensuring early detection of livestock diseases and providing timely assistance to livestock farmers.
