(Digital Itla) Petroleum dealers have welcomed the daily pricing system and announced their support for the government's policy. A delegation from the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA) met with Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, where they engaged in detailed discussions regarding reforms in petroleum product pricing. The Federal Minister stated that the new daily petroleum pricing system will be based on a 7-day rolling average, noting that the previous weekly system was also based on a 7-day average price.

He added that daily pricing will increase transparency and discourage market distortions and hoarding, promising that all legitimate feedback from dealers will be included in the preparation of rules and regulations. Ali Pervaiz Malik also mentioned that a meeting between PPDA and OGRA has been scheduled for tomorrow to discuss dealer margins and other issues, reaffirming the government's commitment to establishing a transparent, competitive, and consumer-friendly petroleum market. The Federal Minister thanked the delegation for supporting the government's reform agenda.

The PPDA delegation praised the government for ensuring the uninterrupted supply of petroleum products during the Strait of Hormuz crisis, noting that fuel supply was effectively maintained despite global shortages. The PPDA requested that dealers be included in the drafting of regulations for petroleum dealers and OMCs. The Federal Minister assured them that their demand to increase the dealer margin to 8% is being considered.
