Pakistani Driver Wins 100,000 AED Raffle; Uses Funds for Son's Wedding and Medical Care

(Digital Itla) A Pakistani driver who won a 100,000 AED raffle prize in the UAE utilized the winnings to fund his son’s wedding and undergo a necessary surgery.

When Abdus Salam Mohammad Ashraf won 100,000 AED in the UAE lottery last year, he did not plan vacations, buy a luxury car, or splurge on expensive items. Instead, he dedicated the funds to supporting his family.

Over the next nine months, Abdus Salam funded his son’s wedding, underwent surgery, and assisted in purchasing a car for his daughter in Pakistan.

"I didn't buy anything for myself," Abdus Salam said. "I wanted to use this prize to support my family and cover things that were truly important to us. It brought me immense happiness."

Originally from Sahiwal, Pakistan, Abdus Salam works as a limousine driver in Abu Dhabi. He won the Lucky Chance prize in the Lucky Day draw in November 2025.

The timing of the win was critical, as his family was preparing for his son's upcoming marriage while he required medical surgery.
