(Digital Itla) Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that 180W solar panels, batteries, fans, and LED lights are being provided to an additional 275,000 families to meet their energy needs.
Speaking to the media, the provincial minister stated that on the instructions of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, rapid progress is being made on the Rs 18.2 billion solar distribution project, calling it a revolutionary step for public relief.
Sharjeel Memon explained that under the scheme, 132,000 families in off-grid areas and 143,000 families in on-grid areas will benefit. Eligible families are receiving a 180-watt solar panel, battery, fan, and LED lights to ensure access to affordable and reliable electricity.
He noted that over 15,000 solar kits have been distributed so far, with a target set to cover all 275,000 families by June 2027. He added that the project goes beyond electricity supply to provide real relief to poor and deserving citizens.
