GCUF Holds 83rd Advanced Studies and Research Board Meeting, Reviews PhD and MPhil Research Matters

FAISALABAD: Oct 5 (Digital Itla) — Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) held the 83rd meeting of its Advanced Studies and Research Board at the university’s New Campus, chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam.

The meeting reviewed various academic and research matters concerning PhD and MPhil scholars, including thesis evaluation reports, enrollment extensions and applications for PhD Approved Supervisor status.

Professor Dr. Matloob Ahmad, Director Advanced Studies, presented the agenda and briefed board members on evaluation reports and recommendations from local and foreign examiners concerning PhD theses in physical sciences, life sciences, arts and social sciences, Islamic and Oriental studies, and engineering and technology.

The board also considered applications from PhD and MPhil scholars seeking enrollment or extensions beyond the prescribed period, based on their academic progress, research work, publications and thesis status.

Minutes of relevant faculty boards and other research-related matters were also presented for consideration.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Rauf-i-Azam stressed the importance of improving the quality of higher education and research, maintaining high standards in PhD programmes and ensuring the timely resolution of students’ academic matters in accordance with university rules and regulations.
