Faisalabad Commissioner Orders Unrelenting Crackdown on Encroachments

FAISALABAD, Aug. 10: Faisalabad Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Administrator Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh has ordered authorities to continue an indiscriminate crackdown on illegal encroachments across the city, officials said on Monday.

Chairing a meeting of Municipal Corporation officials, Sheikh directed authorities to demolish permanent and temporary structures built on encroached land and share daily progress reports on the operation.

He praised the performance of the Municipal Officer Regulation during the ongoing campaign against encroachment and instructed officials not to ease enforcement.

Sheikh said encroachments on roads and streets obstruct the smooth flow of traffic and must be removed to ensure the rule of law, a cleaner urban environment and easier movement for residents.

The commissioner also decided to review the daily performance of municipal officers and said providing relief to citizens in all areas remained the administration's top priority.

He directed officials to take effective measures to resolve public complaints and improve municipal services.

"We will continue our efforts until the standard of Municipal Corporation services exceeds public expectations," Sheikh said.
