Three-Day Independence Day Celebrations Begin Across Faisalabad Division; Flag Hoisting Set for August 14
FAISALABAD, Aug. 12, 2026: Faisalabad Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh invited a senior citizen to cut the Independence Day cake as the chief guest during a ceremony held at the e-Khidmat Markaz.
The commissioner personally went to the senior citizen's seat and invited him to participate in the cake-cutting ceremony. The elderly guest cut the cake, after which the commissioner fed him a piece of cake, drawing appreciation from those present.
Commissioner Plants Sapling at e-Khidmat Markaz
As part of the Independence Day celebrations and the ongoing plantation campaign, Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh planted a sapling within the premises of the e-Khidmat Markaz along with other participants.
He said plantation activities not only contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment but also provide an opportunity to demonstrate love for the country through practical action.
Commissioner Reviews Public Services
The commissioner also inspected facilities at the e-Khidmat Markaz and directed officials to immediately make the non-functional air-conditioning units on the first floor operational.
He further ordered that alternative arrangements be made for visitors and staff until the HVAC system was fully restored.
Dr Sheikh met citizens who had arrived at the centre to access various government services and asked about the performance of the facility and the services being provided. He expressed satisfaction with the overall functioning of the centre.
Central Flag-Hoisting Ceremony on August 14
The commissioner said three-day Independence Day celebrations had begun across the Faisalabad Division with a range of activities.
He announced that the central Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. on August 14 at the Commissioner Complex.
He said public participation in Independence Day events would help promote patriotism, national unity and a spirit of collective celebration.
