Another hoax dacoity claim backfires: Mansoorabad police arrest Naqqash Umar for staging fake robbery call

Faisalabad 9 Oct (DIGITAL ITLA): Continuing a crackdown against the misuse of emergency services, Faisalabad Police arrested a suspect who staged a fake dacoity drama to mislead law enforcement.

According to police, a caller named Naqqash Umar dialed "Rescue 15" claiming that unknown armed men had intercepted him and forcibly snatched his cash and mobile phone. However, when personnel from the Mansoorabad police station rushed to the scene and verified the facts, the robbery claim was exposed as entirely fabricated—the supposedly snatched mobile phone was recovered directly from the caller's possession. Investigators revealed that the suspect staged the hoax call with the intent of registering a false criminal case. Police promptly apprehended the suspect and initiated formal legal proceedings against him.

Reiterating a strict stance, CPO Faisalabad warned that the misuse of the Emergency 15 helpline and the reporting of fabricated incidents waste critical police resources and will not be tolerated. He emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to mislead the authorities through false claims.
