According to details, August 2026 brings a long period of rest and celebration for Pakistanis.
Under government notifications and the calendar, a total of 12 holidays are expected in August when combining federal public holidays and weekend holidays, making it one of the months with the highest number of days off this year.
In August, Independence Day will feature a long 3-day weekend because August 14 falls on a Friday this year, offering citizens three consecutive days off on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
According to the annual public, bank, and optional holidays notification issued by the Government of Pakistan, August 25, 2026 (Tuesday) will be a public holiday nationwide on account of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
If there are no changes to the calendar, August will become the month with the most holidays in recent months, comprising 10 weekend holidays and 2 federal public holidays, bringing the total expected holidays to 12.
