FAISALABAD: The body of a 10-year-old boy who had gone missing from the Rehmanpura area three days ago was recovered from a vacant plot, police said.
Police identified the victim as Bilal, who was allegedly sexually assaulted and killed. A case has been registered against unidentified suspects under charges of murder, kidnapping and sexual assault, according to police.
Bilal, the son of a power-loom factory worker, had reportedly left his home on August 16 to buy ice but did not return.
His family and police had been searching for him since his disappearance. His body was recovered late last night from among trees and bushes in a vacant plot in the area, police said.
Police have launched an investigation to identify and arrest those responsible for the child's death.
